Program Description For the Bachelor of Arts and Science, students must complete two majors: an Arts major, and a Science major. Music Whether you are interested in performance, composition, digital audio arts or music education, our classical music programs are designed to meet your specific needs and interest. If you are interested in music and another subject area, a BA allows you to explore all your educational interests with more flexible degree options that allow more sciences, social sciences and humanities, while still focusing on music. Build your program around your diverse interests across art, humanities, sciences and social sciences. Through our classical music program you can choose to pursue a performance route and receive one-on-one instruction from master performer-teachers. Entrance to studio courses are dependent on a successful audition. , attend numerous guest artist classes and have performance opportunities throughout the year. Recitals showcase your development and accomplishments as a growing musician and your experience is enhanced by participation in ensembles. Compliment your studies with courses outside your area of focus to achieve the goals you have set out for your future endeavours. Biological Sciences Biological sciences delve into the world of living organisms — from microbes, to human beings, to entire ecosystems. It is the science of life on, under and above earth. Exploring the nature of life leads biologists out into the world where they study how organisms interact with their environment, how they function and how they evolved over time. The Department of Biological Sciences provides you with hands-on learning, moving you beyond textbooks and lectures to engaging research projects. Biology is a research-intensive science that can lead to a wide range of study areas, like environmental work, medicine, microbiology or agriculture.
